Welcome to My Blog !

Have you ever wished that you could find a business that provides you with a genuine opportunity to change your life? Well, I would like to share with you a business that has truly changed my life and the lives of countless other people throughout the world...

It wasn’t that long ago that I found myself feeling “bogged down" … Although I had what was known as the "best" job in the building, and had opportunities to earn additional income through extra-curricular activities, I lost the passion for what I was doing. I spent 17+ years as educator in the urban public school system. The last three years of that time I was in a Technology leadership position, Computer Science Teacher and Network Administrator -bound by politics that frankly left me feeling burned out.
I love to help people. I am also a classically trained nurse. I knew there had to be something else out there for me and I wanted to find something that I could continue working with people from all over the world, and help them find their spark again. Making better decisions to increase health and better survival outcomes is why I started my business. I was incredibly fortunate to find this opportunity. I was able to leave my J-O-B, come home to my husband and son, and work this amazing business from home.
This business is founded on the principles of the universal laws of attraction, the power of positive thinking, and mindset. Personal development is now a $20 billion/year industry and has become a worldwide phenomenon. Personal development is the process of improving self-knowledge, developing potential, increasing confidence, building human capital, and enhancing quality of life - the preparedness lifestyle. The bottom line here is that I am looking for motivated professionals who are serious about creating change for themselves. If you are ready to take control of your life, and no longer let life control you, then you may have just found the perfect opportunity!
Success is a choice …your choice! It's always your choice!

Submit your contact information today and I will personally call you back for a short qualifying interview to determine if this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Contactless credit card hits market

The way consumers use credit cards is set to be changed by the introduction of a new, hassle-free product.

High street bank Barclays and mobile phone network Orange have teamed up to introduce the contactless credit card, which allows holders to make small payments by swiping the plastic items over a card reader.

More than 20,000 retailers have installed the contactless pay points in their stores and, according to Visa, there are currently five million of these cards in use, reports the Guardian.

The two firms plan to launch a mobile phone with contactless technology, allowing consumers to make small payments using their hand-held phones.

The newspaper reports that Orange said the move will give consumers "a new level of control over their account", as they will be able to set daily or weekly category-based spending targets.

For example, users could identify a £50 a week limit on spending on food items. When the consumer neared this limit they would receive an SMS informing them that they are reaching their threshold.

Furthermore, a reward system will mean that Orange customers will earn a point for every £1 spent via the mobile phone network's credit card. These points will be redeemable in major high street stores.

Chris Wood, managing director at Barclaycard, said: "We are seeing demand from both retailers and customers for ever more convenient ways to pay and accept payment and believe mobile and contactless technologies are key to meeting those needs."

He added: "This announcement shows how, in partnership with Orange, Barclaycard is starting to make mobile contactless payments a step closer for UK consumers."

However, some consumers have raised fears that a contactless payment system could be more prone to fraud than over the counter payments.
Marc Overton, vice-president of wholesale, business development and partnerships, Orange UK, described the contactless payment system as a sign of things to come in the banking industry.

He explained: "A key part of our UK strategy is to grow and evolve our business, whilst at the same time provide extra value for our customers.
"In partnering with Barclaycard, we believe we're doing just that, and today's announcement is the next exciting step in the journey to the future world of consumers paying for everyday goods on their mobile phone."

According to research recently conducted by Barclaycard, credit card payments in the UK between December 19th and 31st last year increased by 2.4 per cent to £4.085 billion compared to the same period in 2008.

Meanwhile, Steve Perry, executive vice-president of Visa Europe, told the Times that the contactless payment system is "revolutionary" and a change as momentous as the introduction of internet payments five years ago.

Empowerment Is A Dirty Word

Empowerment Is A Dirty Word

By Dana Krals

Earlier this year I did an exercise that has you create your own personal mission statement. It's a great thing to do and I highly recommend it. Essentially what you are doing with this exercise is aligning yourself with your life's purpose. The idea is that you do have a purpose, unique to you, and that your strengths and talents will lie in a particular area that allows you to take action on that purpose. Pinpoint your purpose defined with a mission statement, and use it as a guiding force that allows you to align your outer life with your inner design.

For example, I did the exercise and decided that my personal mission statement is "To educate, inspire and empower for the sake of transformation". Now, when opportunities, products, money making endeavors and so on come my way, one of the ways I know if I am or am not aligned with them is by going back to my personal mission statement and checking in.

Shortly after creating my mission statement, however, I began to have a problem with the word 'empower'. Now, I went to school for social work, and empowerment is very big over there. The reason why everyone likes empowerment is that it is the whole 'we'll teach you to fish rather than give you a fish' idea. Giving out fish, or solving people's problems for them, is absolutely enabling and ineffective over the long term. Empowering implies that even when the fish giver is no longer around, it doesn't matter, because you can fish on your own. It all seems very nice. But since empowerment was part of my personal mission, I began to think about it a bit more. And then I decided I didn't like it.

The reason is that really, when I say I am empowering you, what I mean to say is that I know what's best for you, and I'm gonna teach you how to get what I think you should have. It's really about me. It's not about giving. Yes, I empowered you. Even the statement, "I am empowered" implies that you got it from someone else, and didn't do much for your own self. Here, work this program. Here, get this job. Here, study this text. It's a little bit like a social work mission trip. Since the time your village gave up sacrificial cannibalism, your religion has been working fine for you. But here comes someone on a mission trip ready to empower you.

Now, I do not say that we stop helping people, just that we stop empowering them. Another thing they like to say in the social work field is, "People can't be expected to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps!" True. Sometimes they do. But they can't be expected to. There are collective issues that occur as a result of our collective crap, and we have to do something about it collectively. I'm talking institutional racism, poverty, hunger, things like that. I know you personally didn't do it. But in a sense we all did. We're a bit like a corporation. All the corporate employees are proud to belong when the new advertising commercials or paychecks come out. No one, however, cares much about the corporate carbon footprint or follows the hourly wages paid to the overseas workers making the product. Someone else is responsible for that! That's how the collective crap comes about, and while I'm not big on empowering, we certainly should take responsibility and help out.

So, me, I took empowerment out of my personal mission statement. It was really about me feeling good about myself. So I'm going more with the education piece, and added in 'providing tools'. I think that choice should always be there for the person receiving the helping, as much as possible. They should pick the tools that work best for them and with their own knowledge and critical thinking, decide what works. For them. And it might not be what works best for me, or what I thought would work best for them, but since they're the one living their life, I have to trust they can in fact, live their own life. For now my personal mission statement reads: "To educate, inspire, and provide tools for the sake of transformation".

THE HAITI QUAKE AFTER SHOCK

With hundreds of relief efforts sprouting up, it can be confusing. Which one do you choose? One of my friends stated " I've i text messaged the Red Cross 10 times and plan to do again next week.... a little can help alot" Yes it does, if you know the people who need the help most will get it. I'm not trying to be a sceptic, but remember how long it took for aid to arrive during the 2005 Katrina disaster?

In my opinion, less is more. Why? because I just happen to be friends with Dany, who was born in Haiti but lives here in America. I have quietly asked her to be on the call tomorrow on Blog Talk Radio. She has agreed. She is not asking for anything. She is too humble. But i think it will be interesting to hear her thoughts about the conditions in Haiti.

We also would like to know how the Haiti Quake has affected you too. It's not a requirement to know someone in order to lend them some support. But we also know that there are people waiting at the opportunity to exploit the situation.

Please show her some love and support by calling the show which airs Sunday, January 17th,3pm. EST. (347) 237 4575. It doesn't cost anything, but TIME.

I'm exhausted, we have been busy gathering supplies to send over to Haiti. But while I was volunteering, I couldn't help but to notice that their cell phones were NOT ringing from Haiti. They are sad. If anyone would like to help me to help her and the 30 or so other Haitians over at the shop where she is a hairdresser, please message me. From the looks of things,it's going to be a long haul to recovery for the people of Haiti.

You might ask yourselves," Am I prepared for disaster?" Well, whether you are prepared or not,I have written, Survival For the 21st Century, THE OLD WAYS, , Your own do-able, step by step program. It's loaded with disaster preparedness information, sources of supply and a checklist to keep track of everything all in on place. It is not available in stores, paperback 219 pgs. $20 U.S. plus S&H.

" But tune in anyway,I might have something new to say", I told my friend.

National Day of Action

I am outraged over the Stupak-Pitts Amendment. People need to help fight this attack on women's reproductive rights. There will be a rally in Washington D.C. on December 2nd, sponsored by the reproductive justice community as they raise a collective voice and lobby Congress for health care reform that ensures the full-range of reproductive services for all women, which includes access to abortion services!

They[Congress] want to pay for the war and send more troops to Afghanistan.....but not pay for health care! What's the difference? War robs people of their humanity! All those dead soldiers are people's children.

Here's the distinction, the impact and the tough questions: One is a decision affected by the woman and her partner-private and little impact on the economy. Critics claim they don't want to pay for other women's abortions.not to mention the cost for legal vs illegal abortion? Yet war is imposed on both men and women and their families who are sent to fight and ultimately die- public and a drain on the economy!. We all pay for that! Why are we still fighting? Where are those war amendments?

In Roe v. Wade opinion, the Supreme Court decided a series of significant cases in which it recognized a constitutional right to privacy that protects important and deeply personal decisions concerning bodily integrity, identity, and destiny from undue government interference.

In addition to the impact the reversal of Roe would have on medical safety and health of women, it also would have considerable ramifications for the other private decisions protected by Roe’s recognition of the right to bodily autonomy.

The Consequences of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton: Hearing Before the Senate Comm. on the Judiciary,Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Property Rights, 109th Cong. (2005) (testimony of R. Alta Charo)states:

"Roe v. Wade is at the core of American jurisprudence, and its multiple strands of reasoning concerning marital privacy, medical privacy, bodily autonomy, psychological liberty and gender equality are all connected to myriad other cases concerning the rights of parents to rear their children, the right to marry, the right use contraception, the right to have children, and the right to refuse unwanted medical treatment. Overturning Roe would unravel far more than the right to terminate a pregnancy, and many Americans who have never felt they had a personal stake in the abortion debate would suddenly find their own interests threatened, whether it was the elderly seeking to control their medical
treatment, the infertile seeking to use IVF to have a child, the woman seeking to
make a decision about genetic testing, the couple heeding public health messages
to use a condom to reduce the risk of contracting AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases, or the unmarried man who, with his partner, is trying to avoid becoming a father before he is ready to support a family."

Why are we inserting politicians in the doctor- patient relationship? Supporters of this amendment claim that 'abortion services' is not health care. Why not? It is a medical procedure, performed by a medical doctor.

Furthermore, the 'right to choose' is more about the ability to control the paths of our lives, and to weaken this protection in any way would open the door to other government intrusion into not only reproductive rights but all other areas of personal life.

Go back to the campaign of 2008. President Obama campaigned heavily on the abortion issue. Now, he's about to sign a bill that will do exactly what he accused McCain of planning to do.

President Obama also claimed that illegal aliens will not be eligible for care at the expense of the Medicare we already paid into, so we would have it in old age. 'Taxing the rich'sounds great until you notice that prices are already rising to cover the cost. Who do you think will pay the tax on health insurance policies? There is no way to tax anything or anyone without the cost being passed on to the consumer. Taking care of our own will cost enough. Taking care of citizens from other countries is too much. Pretty soon there won't be a 'middle class' to save.

So the issue is, given the importance of the Health Care Reform bill, should the President sign the bill with this amendment attached to it? NO! If they want to fund a war in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, where are the amendments to that? It's also about choosing our battles.

Let's talk about hypocrisy. If the President signs this bill with the amendment attached, will he be accused by some of being a hypocrite? Yes. But the same could be said about pro-life groups who are largely Republican. They talk about protecting life in the womb, but then vote against/ or underfund legislation that support poor children after birth. The "No Child Left Behind" law is an example of this.

We are all affected by this Health Care bill, on both sides of the aisle. The winds of change are here. Roe v. Wade is in jeopardy. The winds are blowing at gale force. The pivot here is to take action, while we still have a choice !

Isagenix- A Review

Isagenix founders Jim and Kathy Coover bring many years of success in network marketing and the nutritional industry to their business. The founding principle of the company is cleanse replenish, revitalize. Their products are specifically designed to help people achieve and maintain their ideal weight.

The first part of the Isagenix program begins with nutritional cleansing of the body for revitalization. Their definition of cleansing is fasting and drinking herbal remedies; it is supposed to promote optimal health. The particular process they advocate is alternating shake days, where 1-2 meals are replaced with Isagenix shakes, soups and bars. The third meal is supposed to be a low calorie nutrient rich meal.

They offer numerous products in the cleanse category. A 30 day cleanse, the cornerstone of the cleansing program heads off the list, along with a 9 day cleanse and their Ionix Supreme. There are also nutritional supplements, antioxidants, and Isagenix greens to replace substances lost in the cleansing process.

Isagenix maintains a scientific and technological advisory board comprised of medical and health professionals. These individuals provide input on new and existing products.

Isagenix makes no mention of specific product formulations. They are concerned about other companies producing knockoffs. Since their products are classified as foods and dietary supplements they cannot be patented, nor does the FDA monitor their manufacturing and labeling processes. The company does state that their ingredients are patented and that their practices are generally recognized as safe. On the website there is a table of allergens with each of the products listed.

Isagenix is committed to improving the health of its customers. To that end, they have organized a yearly $150,000 Isagenix Body Challenge for their preferred customers and Isagenix associates. There are many winners who take home as much as $10,000.

Isagenix offers its associates 5 ways to make money. Their goal is to create more 6 and 7 figure earners than any other company. The website includes coaching calls to inspire people to change their lives. There are also video clips featuring Kathy Coover. They encourage their associates to build their businesses by sharing their stories.

Isagenix seems sincerely committed to improving the health and well being of its customers. They emphasize that their nutritional systems are not diets. They believe they offer consumers a complete wellness system. Many of their customers are also associates, which seems to bolster the company's claims of the products' quality and effectiveness.

PA Budget Impasse & the Link to Education

View Edit Translation

Children Just For Now,Executive Director, Viveca Gresham, understands the value of education.
Parents, caregivers,& the unemployed, won't be working anyhow? So why not train them in the grant writing process?
This could become a course at the Parent University ,endorsed by the School District of Philadelphia. Makes sense to me!
http://www.cjfnn.webs.com/

CCIS, Early Childhood Education Centers, Daycare Providers, & taxpayers,
everyone is affected by the budget impasse.

I remember when I served on the School Improvement Committee, at Lowell
Elementary School, under Mrs. Carol Hodges Principal; our job was to devise &improve the school budget.
We had a deadline too.

Imagine what would have happened if the Technology Committee that i served on ,
didn't turn in our budget on time. We would have been written
-up,administratively transfered out or worse, received unsatisfactory ratings
for the year.

Just recently, one of the childcare providers near Broad& Olney Ave. informed me
that he will have to close his doors within days, because he has not been able to
pay his workers. He has not received payment since June of this year.

Some Daycare facilities are able to write grants to seek additional funding. But
what about those that lack the knowledge, or don't have time or resources to hire
someone like me to write a grant.

This is worth repeating "u get paid according to the size of the problem u solve.. solve big problem, get big check.. copy? :-) Rev. Run"

To overhaul the schools' technology required hard capital expenditures. Although
I collaborated and wrote the grant for the school,we receive funding at the
cluster level. I was then promoted to school- wide Technology Teacher Leader
and then subsequently moved to position of Computer Science Teacher & Network
Administrator.

The budget for subsidized daycare has been eliminated. So what should we do? I
would like to see more workshops to train young mothers on how to be proactive and
learn how to write proposals to get subsidized daycare back into the budget. The
days of sitting back waiting for someone else to do it for you, are over !

Unemployment figures have reached 9.8%. The second highest figures since The Great Depression. And this figure does not include those who have stopped looking for work. Everyday that the budget is not passed, the doors to public and private sectors will close, and more jobs will be lost in Pennsylvania.

"Channel the energy of your disappointment into the positive efforts of your comeback." Marston

Parents, caregivers,& the unemployed, won't be working anyhow? So why not train them in the grant writing process?

Event to Mark 100th Day Without a Pennsylvania State Budget
in State Budget and Tax Policy

October 7, 2009

HARRISBURG, PA – Advocates, community providers and Pennsylvanians hurt by the state’s budget impasse will gather in the Capitol Rotunda at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 to mark the 100th day without a budget.

A similar event will be held in Philadelphia. Click here for more details on that event.

Pennsylvania remains the only state in the nation operating without a budget. Legislators inched closer toward resolution early this week, but wary Pennsylvanians and struggling human service providers, who will have to wait for funds to start flowing even after a budget is enacted, are keeping the pressure on the state’s leaders until the crisis is resolved.

Nonprofits throughout the Commonwealth that service state and county contracts or receive State grants are being forced to lay-off staff, cut services or close their doors due to the budget impasse. Children, the elderly and Pennsylvanian's with special needs are losing vital services. For nonprofits and the communities they serve, this budget impasse has been devastating.

PBPC will participate in Thursday’s event at the state Capitol, which is being organized by the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). It will highlight the current and future impact of the budget impasse on providers of health and human services and the children, seniors and vulnerable Pennsylvanians who rely on those services.
